Meet Your Teacher and Baker: Laura Ries
My name is Laura Ries, and I am the owner of Silverspruce Sweets. Located in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, I am a certified teacher by day, with over 20 years of experience, including a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction. A self-taught baker by night, I have a passion for both teaching and baking, specifically French macarons.
I have always enjoyed baking, but I became interested in macarons after I took a trip to Paris with my mom. After sampling more than our fair share, I was bound and determined to learn how to re-create these French delicacies when we got home! And that's exactly what I did!

Silverspruce Sweets officially opened in the Fall of 2021, after countless hours of working to perfect my macaron recipes. What started as baking for family and friends has grown into a fully licensed home bakery with a wonderfully supportive clientele.
Now, I am embarking on a new journey with Silverspruce Sweets: combining my two passions- baking and teaching- to teach you how to successfully bake macarons, too!
